Surface Treatment and Analysis

Objectives of the module »Surface Treatment and Analysis«

On completion of this module the course participants are able to select suitable surface treatment methods for different applications of fiber reinforced plastics. They learn about the basic principles of surface analysis methods. The importance of strategic procedures for analyzing pretreatment errors and an overview of typical damage patterns are also covered.

Required knowledge for participation and target groups

The realistic minimum requirements for taking this module are successful completion of the online introductory learning program or the Introductory Module. Ideally participants will have taken the Base Modules of the Composite Engineer course. No special prior knowledge beyond this is necessary for taking this module.
The target group for this module are employees who are responsible for the machining/processing of fiber composite structures and components, namely engineers and scientists in all disciplines and industries as well as technicians and technologists with suitable professional experience and expertise. This module is especially directed at those want an overview of all points to heed in production steps involving the surface treatment of FRP components.
