Materials

Objectives of the module »Materials«

This Basic Module provides detailed information about the various components of fiber reinforced plastics. On completion of this module the participants are able to name the key properties of the components of FRPs and describe potential interactions. The module not only covers the diverse range of matrix materials that can be used, but also the various types of fibers and (preimpregnated) textile semi-finished products. After successful completion of this module, participants are also familiar with methods that can be used to measure parameters and the most important properties of the components of FRPs and can understand their effect and significance.

Required knowledge for participation and target groups

The minimum requirements for taking this module are successful completion of the online introductory learning program or the Introductory Module. No special prior knowledge beyond this is necessary for taking this module.
The target group for this module are employees who are responsible for fiber composite structures and components, namely engineers and scientists in all disciplines and industries as well as technicians and technologists with suitable professional experience and expertise.
