Training courses for the machine and plant construction industry

Advanced materials for very demanding requirements

Machines and plants are required by a wide variety of industries. Modern machine and plant construction must hence consider the needs of individual industries and users. At the same time, ever increasing requirements are being put on the machines and plants. They have to offer maximum performance, be energetically efficient, and have low operating costs. In order to meet these requirements, these aspects must be taken into account and optimized in the product development phase. Fiber composites are being increasingly used for machine and plant construction. The advantages of these materials are their light weight: Energy consumption and operating costs are so reduced, and in some cases the precision of the machines and plants increases. Adhesive bonding is an ideal technique for joining different materials. Adhesive bonding often allows the most suitable (e.g. fiber reinforced plastics) to be joined in a customized way for a machine or plant.

Training prevents application errors

The more commonplace the use of adhesive bonding and fiber composites becomes in machine and plant construction, the greater the need for technicians to become familiar with the special features of these processes and materials. Errors in the processing or with material selection or an inability to identify damage can have serious consequences for the quality of the machines and plants. The requirements laid down in DIN EN ISO 9001 for workforce training for industrial users are therefore an important foundation for utilizing the benefits of fiber composites and adhesive bonding. Indeed, across a variety of industries quality assurance standards are placing ever higher requirements on the quality management of individual companies.
