Volker Borst joined Fraunhofer IFAM in 2000. He is Deputy Head of the Training Center for Adhesive Bonding Technology and Project Leader for the DVS/EWF European Adhesive Engineer courses. He is a qualified  European Adhesive Engineer and a tutor for all the training courses in adhesive bonding technology. Other activities of Volker Borst include:

• The planning and execution of other training events in the area of adhesive bonding technology (refresher courses, special courses, etc.)
• Acquisition of and participation in R&D projects
• Advising companies in the area of adhesive bonding technology
• Representing the Training Center for Adhesive Bonding technology at home and abroad
• Company audits/certification in accordance with DIN 6701
